Earlier this year, David Zwirner launched PLATFORM, a new e-commerce site that features artwork from an array of independent galleries from around the world. Each month, 100 new artworks are released at price points that are accessible to a new generation of collectors and art enthusiasts.
This month, PLATFORM has enlisted the expertise of designer, Kelly Wearstler, who has chosen 32 tasteful artworks that she would happily incorporate in her own interior projects. Works include the likes of Canadian artist, Tammi Campbell, whose oeuvre references legends of art history, such as Agnes Martin and Josef Albers. Other notable work includes surreal and brooding ceramic sculptures by Morrocan-American artist, Manal Kara, along with art from Japanese artist, Toru Otani who sources his material from discarded material, such as cigarette packaging and vintage maps.
In the past, PLATFORM has featured a variety of exciting exhibitors — from James Fuentes Gallery, to Queer Thoughts and Bridget Donahue, to name a few. All inquiries and sales on PLATFORM are overlooked by the respective galleries.
In other news, Joakim Ojanen has unveiled an eccentric set of sculptures for a new children’s hospital in Sweden.
