She’s got you, but we’ve got Kelly Clarkson‘s version of a Patsy Cline classic from Wednesday’s (April 7) Kellyoke performance, so who’s really winning here?
Clarkson’s tender performance of Cline’s “She’s Got You” should provide comfort for the brokenhearted who are still holding on to physical memorabilia of their past relationships. The unplugged cover on The Kelly Clarkson Show featured her musical director Jason Halbert stationed at the piano and a member of her band Y’all, Kyle, on upright bass.
“She’s Got You” was released as a single from Cline’s third studio album Sentimentally Yours in 1962. The song became her second No. 1 hit on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart and hit No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, while Loretta Lynn‘s 1977 version also became a No. 1 country hit.
