Kelela has shared a vibe-heavy music video for her last month’s single “On the Run.” The track comes off of the singer’s forthcoming LP, Raven, which will mark her first full-length project in over five years when it releases in February.
In the sultry, red-hued video, Kelela is joined by one of the song’s producers, Bambii. Together, the two drive through the desert, running away from a mysterious force. Kelela collaborated with video director Lee Wei Swee to bring the concept to fruition.
“If you come my way, I’ma want that fire / But you’re on the run, I don’t wanna have a conversation,” she sings. “I don’t wanna wait but you know I’m all the way down / When you come my way, I’ma want that fire.”
“On the Run” joined “Washed Away” and “Happy Ending” as the singles preceding the album’s highly-anticipated release.
In tandem with dropping the visual, Kelela has given word of the upcoming RAVE:N tour, set to begin in March 2023. The singer will hit New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, London and more major cities.
