Karriem Riggins is the subject of the newest Native Instruments-produced mini-documentary, Behind The Sleeves.
The 10-minute video hears the revered drummer, hip-hop producer, DJ and songwriter break down some of his favorite collaborations and works in his catalog, including his projects with the late J Dilla and The Shining, Madlib, Common, Slum Village and Steve Lacy. It also sees Riggins touch on his work with Native Instruments on their new Play Series instrument — ”created to inspire musical diversity and explore how expansive the Law of Rhythm really is” — which offers users kits and groovers patterns created by Riggins himself.
