Kanye West‘s DONDA has earned the second biggest Spotify debut after its release on Sunday morning.
According to Chart Data, the 27-track record raked in nearly 100 million global streams on Spotify within 24 hours to place at No. 2. DONDA stands just below Drake‘s Scorpion, which set the record at 132 million global Spotify streams in 2018. In addition, the JAY-Z and Francis and the Lights-assisted cut “Jail” opened at No. 1 on the US Spotify Chart with 4.277 million streams to hold the biggest debut of a song in 2021.
In addition to setting a new Spotify record, DONDA also broke several Apple Music records in its first 24 hours, including hitting No. 1 on Apple Music’s Top Albums chart in 152 countries, becoming 2021’s most-streamed album and artist in a day and the third most played album on its first day of release in Apple Music.
