Hot off the heels of trolling the Internet by posting a Jordan Brand logo on his Instagram and debuting his official cover for SLAM magazine, Kanye West has now announced that his forthcoming record DONDA 2 is slated to drop on February 22, 2022. The one who is now referred to as Ye took to social media to make the announcement by uploading an image of his re-created childhood home seen at the artist’s Chicago DONDA listening party, but in billboard form with the record’s release date in the foreground. West also confirms that the album is executive produced by Future.
Speculation of this new sequel project being in the works has been floating around since the start of the year, the most recent evidence being from Memphis emcee Moneybagg Yo who posted a screenshot of a text exchange with the creative genius talking about a track that they worked on. In addition, Ye has also been spotted working in the studio with DJ Khaled, but it’s still unclear if this will appear on the record. If all goes according to plan, this would be West’s 11th studio album release.
More updates regarding features, track lists and more are expected to surface in the coming weeks.
Previously, Ye also stated that he’s wrapped up a verse for Cardi B.
