Irish designer Jonathan Anderson is uniting with London-based art gallery Offer Waterman to debut a solo exhibition under his eponymous label, titled On Foot.
The display curated by Anderson will offer a closer look at his designs for LOEWE and JW Anderson, including looks from his Spring/Summer 2023 collection that reassembles transport devices through shredded menswear. Sculptural garments from both brands exude unparalleled artistry, contorting the body into something new. The exhibition relays London’s heroic identity, emulating an explorational walk through its busy neighborhoods.
From Mayfair to Soho and Hyde Park to Southbank, Offer Waterman’s sleek corridors will be packed with iconic British references. Halls will reflect traffic-filled streets, while ceramic sculptures assume walking human forms. Blooming gardens are stormed by Anderson’s trademark pigeon motifs, concluding the journey with a theatrical pub and inhabitant tales.
To celebrate the exhibition, JW Anderson has collaborated with British artist Anthea Hamilton to release an exclusive pigeon clutch at Offer Waterman and the brand’s London Soho retail store.
Numerous international artists will display their work at Anderson’s On Foot, including Igshaan Adams, Frank Auerbach, Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, Hans Coper, Shawanda Corbett, Sara Flynn, Lucian Freud, Anthea Hamilton, Barbara Hepworth, Akiko Hirai, David Hockney, Leon Kossoff, Stanislava Kovalcikova, Florian Krewer, Doron Langberg, Jennifer Lee, L. S. Lowry, Henry Moore, Cedric Morris, Dame Magdalene Odundo, Jem Perucchini, Walter Sickert, Christopher Wood, and more.
