Justin Timberlake Returns With New Single "Selfish," Announces Sixth Studio LP

Justin Timberlake is bearing his soul on a new track called “Selfish.” The song hears the singer slow it down for a ballad-like approach to pop. It also marks his first solo release in six years.

“If I get jealous, I can’t help it / I want every bit of you, I guess I’m selfish,” he sings in the chorus. “ It’s bad for my mental, but I can’t fight it, when / You’re out lookin’ like you do, but you can’t hide it, no.”

“Selfish” arrived in tandem with a music video directed by Bradley J. Calder featuring a behind-the-scenes video of Timberlake on set for a shoot, demonstrating his vulnerability.

The track is also a teaser of what’s to come from the 42-year-old artist. Timberlake has simultaneously announced his first new album since 2018’s Man of the Woods. The forthcoming LP is entitled Everything I Thought It Was and is scheduled to drop on March 15.

Later this month, he’ll also be performing on Saturday Night Live on an episode hosted by Dakota Johnson.
