“I promised myself, like I didn’t want to get tattoos on your hands. And so I don’t think I’m gonna get tattoos on my hands,” he explained. “Something about just being able to wear a suit and not having tattoos on my hands; I don’t know.”
He pointed out that his legs and feet are the only available real estate on his body for new ink. But if he needed more Justice-related inspo, he could also turn to his favorite lyric off the album from its opener “2 Much”: “Don’t want to fall asleep, I’d rather fall in love.”
The singer also opened up in the interview about his wife’s positive impact on his life in the song “Unstable” and what he’s doing to stay healthier, highlighting his key word of the year that he mentioned in his current Billboard cover story: boundaries. The 27-year-old global superstar stops working at 6 p.m. so he can spend evenings with Hailey, and he uses an iPad for communicating with his management by the time he wakes up at 8 a.m. because he doesn’t possess a cellphone.
“I definitely learned how to have boundaries, and I just don’t feel like I owe anybody anything,” Bieber told Billboard. “That has helped me to be able to just say no and just be firm in it and know that my heart [wants] to help people, but I can’t do everything. I want to sometimes, but it’s just not sustainable.”
