Juergen Teller’s ‘Donkey Man and Other Stories, Editorial Works Volume 1’ Spans 30 Years of Work

Fashion’s photographer of choice Juergen Teller has released a photo book that showcases over 30 years of work. Published by Rizzoli, Teller’s Donkey Man and Other Stories, Editorial Works Volume 1 comes in at 608 pages bound in hardback form, making this arguably the epitome of a coffee table book if not a guaranteed talking point.

From the moment you lay your eyes on the book you’ll be immediately transported into Teller’s world. On the cover is the photographer sprawled unclothed on a donkey, while inside you’ll find fashion stories, portraiture, naked pictures, animal pictures, landscapes, and still life alongside commissioned texts.

Words from the art critic and academic Donatien Grau, the editor-in-chief of British Vogue Edward Enninful, and model Kristen McMenamy, are found throughout to give more insight into the life and practices of Teller and his work. As for images, expect to find pictures of Kurt Cobain and Björk, the “Romania” shoot that was featured in a 1990 issue of i-D, and editorials that featured in Arena Homme Plus, British Vogue, POP, Purple, Self-Service, and System over the last decade.

A selection of images shot by Teller that feature in the book can be seen above, while those wanting a copy can purchase the volume from Dover Street Market London and its accompanying website now.
