In the first trailer for Greedy People, Joseph Gordon-Levitt portrays a local cop who stumbles upon a fortune after a 911 call goes wrong.
Terry (Gordon-Levitt) is onboarding rookie cop Will (Himesh Patel) in the sleepy town of Providence, South Carolina. After responding to a 911 call, an accident leads to the duo discovering a million dollars at the crime scene.
Rather than calling for backup, Will and Terry conspire to pocket the money for themselves, though the endeavor proves more difficult than they anticipated. “The community’s quirky residents are lured into the mad dash for cash — ranging from an expectant mom to a masseur to a shrimp company owner — and everyone learns just how far they are willing to go for the almighty dollar,” the film’s logline reads.
Alongside Patel and Gordon-Levitt, Lily James, Simon Rex, Tim Blake Nelson, Joey Lauren Adams, Uzo Aduba, and Jim Gaffigan comprise the main cast. Potsy Ponciroli is directing with a script written by Michael Vukadinovich.
