Jorja Smith Delivers Indie-Inspired Single, “GO GO GO”

Jorja Smith Delivers Indie-Inspired Single, "GO GO GO"

Jorja Smith is continuing to drop singles off her forthcoming LP, Falling or Flying. After unveiling “Try Me” in April and “Little Things” in June, the UK songstress recently delivered a new single, “GO GO GO”, in which she taps into her pop-rock side.

Clocking in at nearly two and a half minutes long, “GO GO GO” is a nod to Smith’s lengthy list of alternative music influences such as The Kooks and JAWS, she explains in a recent BBC Radio 1 Interview that she shared to her Instagram story. What Smith describes as “a f*ck you” track, is led by guitars and a heavy percussive beat. “I close my eyes, don’t wake me no more / I break the ties, I’m gone for good now,” she croons on the chorus.

In the music video, directed by Amber Grace Johnson, Smith discovers her man is cheating on her, thus prompting her to leave the apartment, hop in a car and race off to have herself a night at a lively club.  Dominated by bright colors and Smith’s believable theatrical performance, the video is the ultimate “f*ck you” video. “GO GO GO” is available to stream – as part of a three-pack also featuring “Little Things” and “Try Me” – on Spotify and Apple Music.

Falling or Flying is slated for a September 29 release date. Apple Music lists the album with 16 tracks.

In other music news, Mac Miller’s 2018 Tiny Desk Concert is now available on vinyl.
