It’s shaping as a huge weekend for the JoBros and Marshmello, whose collaboration “Leave Before You Love Me” will drop tonight at midnight ET. Just this week, the bros announced a sprawling massive summer “Remember This” tour, scheduled to kick off Aug. 20 at the Park Theater in Las Vegas.
The Weeknd leads all BBMAs finalists with nods in 16 categories, followed by DaBaby (11 nominations), the late Pop Smoke (10) and Gabby Barrett (nine).
Also on the night, Drake will receive the Artist of the Decade Award and Trae Tha Truth will receive the Billboard Change Maker Award.
BBMA finalists and winners are based on key fan interactions with music, including audio and video streaming, album and digital song sales, radio airplay, and social engagement, tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including MRC Data and Next Big Sound.
This year’s awards are based on the chart period of March 21, 2020 through April 3, 2021.
The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 23, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC.
