Nite notched his first songwriting credit on the Hot Country Songs chart in 2012 with Thompson Square’s “Glass” (co-written with Copperman; No. 15 peak).
Since then, Nite has had a hand in writing 30 Hot Country Songs hits, including 15 top 10s and four No. 1s:
Artist, Title (songwriters in addition to Nite)
Keith Urban & Miranda Lambert, “We Were Us” (Jimmy Robbins, Nicolle Galyon)
Jake Owen, “Beachin’ ” (Jimmy Robbins, Jaren Johnston)
Luke Bryan, “Strip It Down” (Luke Bryan, Ross Copperman)
Gabby Barrett, “I Hope” (Gabby Barrett, Zach Kale)
Nite has also co-written 18 Country Airplay top 10s, including 11 No. 1s.
He succeeds fellow “I Hope” writers Barrett and Kale atop Country Songwriters, after they spent a week tied at No. 1 thanks to their credits on Barrett’s “I Hope” and follow-up “The Good Ones.”
On this week’s Country Producers chart, Joey Moi scores a record-extending 46th week at No. 1, powered by eight production credits on Hot Country Songs, seven from Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album.
The weekly Country Songwriters and Country Producers charts are based on total points accrued by a songwriter and producer, respectively, for each attributed song that appears on the Hot Country Songs chart. As with Billboard‘s yearly recaps, multiple writers or producers split points for each song equally (and the dividing of points will lead to occasional ties on rankings).
