The much-anticipated release of the John Wick spin-off Ballerina starring Ana de Armas has officially been delayed another year. Much to audiences’ dismay, the film will now be releasing in Summer 2025 instead.
According to Deadline, filmmaker Chad Stahelski has inked a new deal with Lionsgate that now allows him to oversee the entire franchise. He is said to be working with Ballerina with director Len Wiseman on additional action sequences for the film. Advanced anticipation for the film is at an all-time high, but Lionsgate still believes it could be better.
Taking over Ballerina‘s 2024 release date on June 7 is Rupert Sanders’ The Crow which stars Bill Skarsgård. The film is a modern reimagination of James O’Barr’s original graphic novel. Skarsgård plays Eric Draven and FKA Twigs plays Shelly Webster. Danny Huston, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajil and Jordan Bolger also star in this picture.
As for Ballerina, Ana de Armas will be the lead alongside Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Gabriel Byrne and the late Lance Reddick. The events of Ballerina are set between the third and fourth John Wick film since Reeves is in it. The new release date for Ballerina is on June 6, 2025.
