Jimin Shares New Track "Closer Than This," Dedicated to BTS Fans

Jimin may be serving in South Korea’s army alongside his fellow bandmates but that hasn’t stopped him from releasing new music. The K-pop star has returned with a new single entitled “Closer Than This.”

He describes the song as dedicated to BTS‘ loyal fans, who have continued to support him through his enlistment. Despite his relative absence from the music industry while serving, Jimin sings about how he appreciates his fans sticking by him through the changing of tides.

“Don’t have to worry now / Letting go of your hand for a moment,” he sings on the track, per the English translation. “But it’s only a small comma in our story / Just call my name out loud / Until the days tinge purple once again.”

A music video that debuted alongside “Closer Than This” shows footage of Jimin working on the single shortly before joining the army. He intersperses the recent videos with shots from BTS’ debut shows in 2013 and some of their unforgettable moments receiving music industry accolades.
