JID released his third solo studio album The Forever Story back in 2022, though it’s only been since TikTok‘s recent “Ceiling Challenge” that a certain cut has gotten the love it deserved long ago. The rapper’s “Surround Sound” has taken over social media as of late, so the rapper had to show out on Jimmy Fallon‘s The Tonight Show.
On the album, JID enlists 21 Savage and Baby Tate on the high-energy track, though he took to the Fallon stage solo for the close of the first episode of the year. Donning an Atlanta Falcons shirt, the rapper confidently spit the bars of the viral track as a kaleidoscopic montage of images played on the screen behind him.
“Hit the music, baby, cut it down (whoa) / Hit a doobie while you do me indubitably / I feel like I’ma bust now (whoa) / I feel like a bust down when I shine bright / Blind n****s is up now (whoa, sh*t) / In the cut, big black truck, pack sacked up / You can pick it up now,” he delivers, wowing the crowd with his wordplay.
