It’s been a rather quiet year for JID thus far, with the rapper remaining rather lowkey regarding his solo releases and sparingly showing out for a handful of one-off features. The one solo offering the rapper has dropped off in 2024 has been a freestyle dubbed “30 (FREESTYLE)” which he unveiled promptly on January 1. However, a comeback may be nigh, with the rapper following up “30” with another freestyle entitled “31 (FREESTYLE).”
In its current form, “31 (FREESTYLE)” is a YouTube-exclusive single, surfacing strictly on the platform and not yet on any DSPs. JID taps fellow Atlanta talent Hollywood Cole to handle the track’s production while taking to Saudi Arabia for a captivating accompanying visual.
“You a prophet, or you only out for profit / Runnin’ fades, sippin’ water out the faucet my adolescent days / But out of penny, out of pocket, out of circuit, out of socket / My plugs speakin’ a language of drugs, it’s jaw droppin’ / Lock in, got me feelin’ like Pac, and it’s the apocalypse / And I don’t politic with the policies of the parliament,” he spits in his signature flow on the verse.
While “31 (FREESTYLE)” is out on YouTube now, the cut still has yet to make its way over to streaming services. Stream the music video in the gallery above.
