Jennifer Lopez Just Wore the Trend That Could Replace Midi Skirts

Jennifer Lopez Just Wore the Trend That Could Replace Midi Skirts

Now that we’re actually in 2022, the predicted S/S 22 trends that hit the runways this past autumn are actually starting to come to fruition (especially in the form of celebrity sightings). The latest celeb to be an early adopter of an anticipated spring trend is Jennifer Lopez, who was out shopping with her daughter this weekend at The Grove in L.A.

Although micro miniskirts have been particularly buzzy after their presence on multiple spring runways (and on Kendall Jenner, most recently), maxi skirts have actually been equally buzzy among the fashion crowd after being seen on the S/S 22 runways of Chanel, Gabriela Hearst, and Chloé, to name a few. And it’s worth noting that the skirt style that’s devoid of buzz this season is the midi skirt. (Although, it can definitely be argued that it’s a classic as opposed to a trend at this point.)

For her shopping trip, Lopez opted for a tiered maxi skirt that also hit on a few other trends, including patchwork, denim, and Western-inspired. Clearly choosing to embrace the theme (as she often does), she paired the trendy skirt with a cropped knit, fringed Chanel bag, and Western boots.

If J.Lo has convinced you that a maxi skirt belongs in your 2022 wardrobe, scroll to shop some of our favourites.
