‘Jeen-Yuhs’ Directors Creating New Feature Documentary on McDonald’s All-American Game

Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy co-directors Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah are creating a feature documentary on the McDonald’s All-American Game spotlighting all-star high school basketball players.

Under the working title The All Americans: The Games That Changed The Game, Simmons and Ozah will produce the film with their production imprint Creative Control, alongside Roc Nation and Known Studios. Production on the film has already begun and will include footage from next week’s 2022 McDonald’s All-American Games in Chicago.

The annual game, which launched in 1977, features the 48 best and most highly-recruited high school players from across the country as they play against each other, East vs. West. NBA stars including Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant and more first appeared at the McDonald’s All-American Game before rising to fame.

“For 45 years, McDonald’s All-American Game has provided extraordinary young men and women an opportunity to play on a national stage, while also enforcing the importance of giving back. The McDonald’s All-Americans are not just leading scorers in the NBA and WNBA, they are also dedicated philanthropists,” Lori York, executive VP of TV and film at Roc Nation, said in a statement.
