The Manhattan location of JAY-Z‘s 40/40 Club is shutting its doors after two decades.
According to reports, club rep Andrea Thomas revealed that the club’s original address closed in late July with plans to reopen at a new location some time next year. Its Barclays Center location remains open, however. In August 2021, Hov celebrated 18 years of his 40/40 Club and reopened it with a big celebration that was attended by the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Uzi Vert, Beyoncé, Meek Mill and more.
The 40/40 Club first opened to the public in 2003 and was the location of many album release parties and birthday celebrations of celebrities. In the past 20 years, JAY-Z also opened lounges in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Atlanta and at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Euphoria added a tribute to the late Angus Clouds for all its episodes.
