It is that time of the year again. JAY-Z has dropped his end of the year playlist on Tidal and to no surprise, it is filled with R&B heavy-hitters and big name hip-hop tracks. Putting his stamp of approval on some of the best tracks to come out of the year, the playlist shows off the music mogul’s favorite year-end picks.
In a playlist tilted, “Couple Songs of ‘23,” it features 40 songs The Blueprint MC has enjoyed in 2023. The list includes selections like Beyoncé‘s “My House,” “FE!N” by Travis Scott featuring Playboi Carti and Gunna‘s “fukumean.” Drake made the list four time with tracks like “8am in Charlotte” and “First Person Shooter” with J. Cole. Another J. Cole track also saw Lil Yachty make the list with “The Secret Recipe.” Other artists like Sampha, André 3000, Future, Don Toliver, Offset, Nicki Minaj, Lil Uzi Vert and more joined the ranks too. Perhaps one of the more controversial picks is Diddy‘s “Boohoo” track with Jeremih.
The playlist is a part of the Curated By: Jay-Z page on Tidal and features selections like EOY lists from 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 as well as “2020 vision COVID 19.”
