Watch the Throne, Part Deux: Kanye West and JAY-Z have reunited on a new track for Donda, Kanye’s upcoming 10th solo album. Kanye debuted the as-yet-untitled collaboration during a listening session held at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday night.
“Donda, I met your baby when I touched that throne / I told him to stop all that red cap we going home / Not be with all of these sins cast the stones,” raps JAY-Z on his verse. “This might be the return of the throne. HOVA and Yeezus, like Moses and Jesus.”
It’s certainly a surprise development, as the former Watch the Throne collaborators have been at odds for the last several years.

During his 2016 “Saint Pablo Tour,” Kanye repeatedly called out JAY-Z from the stage. He accused his longtime collaborator of cutting off their relationship after Kanye became involved with (now ex-wife) Kim Kardashian. He also chided JAY-Z for failing to reach out in the wake of Kardashian’s armed robbery in 2016, and even claimed that JAY had hired hitman to silence him. Later, Kanye filed a lawsuit against JAY-Z over disagreements involving JAY’s artist-owned streaming service TIDAL.
Meanwhile, JAY seemingly took a swipe at Kanye on his 2017 album 4:44: “You dropped outta school, you lost your principles,” he rapped on the song “Kill JAY-Z”.
Kanye’s new album Donda is set to arrive on Friday. Other featured guests include Travis Scott, Pusha-T, Lil Baby, Baby Keem, Pop Smoke, and Playboi Carti.
