Japanese Breakfast’s Michelle Zauner and Goose Island Beer Co. have collaborated on a special edition beer that will be available at Pitchfork Music Festival, which takes place at Chicago’s Union Park from July 15-17. Be Sweet Lager was inspired by persimmon, which prominently appeared on the cover of her new album Jubilee, and features artwork by Mary Vertulfo.
“Persimmons have been the main visual motif for our record Jubilee, so it felt fitting to incorporate the fruit in our Goose Island brew at Pitchfork Music Festival,” Zauner said. “I am excited to finally share the collaboration at the festival this year.”
Starting July 15, the beer will be available at Pitchfork Music Festival and the Goose Island Fulton Taproom while supplies last. Proceeds from the Be Sweet Lager will benefit Heart of Dinner, which combats food insecurity within New York’s elderly Asian American community.
