James Blake Reveals ‘CMYK 002’ EP

James Blake Reveals 'CMYK 002' EP

After shutting down New York City’s Knockdown Center for a sold-out 12-hour set this past weekend, James Blake has dropped off a new EP under his CMYK label. The CMYK 002 EP – which Blake is calling the Let Her Know EP – is, in the words of the CMYK creator himself, not a follow-up to his 2010 CMYK tape but is rather a standalone sonic offering that introduces four new bouncy Blake cuts.

CMYK 002 is not a sequel to the original EP CMYK,” Blake clarified in a message on X.

“My independent imprint is named CMYK, and this is my second release on it (the first being ‘001 – Thrown Around).’”

“Thrown Around” does not surface on the new EP, rather with “Let Her Know” kicking it off, followed by “Don’t Co-Write,” “Dream (Move My Feet)” and “Foreign.”

Clocking it at about 18 minutes long, the project arrives just two weeks ahead of the producer’s joint Bad Cameo LP with Lil Yachty – who appears briefly on “Dream (Move My Feet).”

The nights prior to his star-studded Knockdown Center extravaganza – complete with performances by Mura Masa, Montell Fish and many others – Blake stripped down some of his songs for two “An Evening With James Blake” piano shows in New York City.

Stream CMYK 002 now on Spotify and Apple Music.
