Announced last year with the addition of Conor McGregor to the cast, the reboot of Road House is continuing to get film fans excited. This past weekend, star Jake Gyllenhaal took part in filming key scenes for the remake of the 1989 film of the same name during lead up and night of UFC 285.
Getting into his character of Elwood Dalton, the actor took part in the ceremonial weigh-ins before fight night Offering a glimpse at his impressive physique for the role, Gyllenhaal stepped on the scale and staged a face-off with former UFC fighter Jay Hieron, who plays his opponent in the film. The two get into a scripted physical altercation and Gyllenhaal delivers some harsh trash talk.
On fight night, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jay Hieron stepped into the Octagon to film their important fight scene. Dressed in the UFC’s Venum Fight Gear, Gyllenhaal as Elwood Dalton made his way into the cage and landed a flying knee and grounded strikes for a knockout victory.
Later that evening, the actor sat next to former two-division UFC Champion and co-star Conor McGregor to catch the UFC 285 bouts.
Road House is set to follow Elwood Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter that ends up working at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys where things are not as they seem.
