Jack Harlow Lands Star Role in White Men Can’t Jump

Rapper Jack Harlow is preparing to make his cinematic debut in 20th Century’s reboot of White Men Can’t Jump. Calmatic is directing the reboot with a script written by Blackish creator Kenya Barris and Doug Hall. This is a revived take on Ron Shelton’s 1992 sports comedy which starred Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson as street basketball players who begin as enemies and are forced to partner up for a larger cause.

Deadline was first to report and SPIN has learned of his involvement.

Harlow will be playing the role that Woody Harrelson originated in the 1992 film. The Louisville native’s first-ever screen audition proved his acting chops and got him a place on the cast list.

The 23-year-old is known for his charm and love for basketball. You can often find him courtside at Lakers games and he played in the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game, making this basketball-centric film perfect for his debut.

On the music front, his latest single, “Nail Tech,” was also released several weeks ago marking his first solo track of the year. The track caught the attention of Kanye who shared the track on Instagram and eventually asked Harlow to feature on Ye’s album Donda 2, resulting in the track “Louie Bag.”
