Jack Antonoff is perhaps one of the most prolific producers of pop music. For his latest project, Antonoff will be helming the soundtrack for Apple TV’s forthcoming historical drama, The New Look.
Created by Todd A. Kessler, the series centers on fashion designers working in the aftermath of the Nazi occupation in Paris. Ben Mendelsohn plays Christian Dior, while Juliette Binoche portrays Coco Chanel.
The New Look will specifically hone in on Dior’s aim to dethrone Chanel and become the city’s top fashion house. During the period, Dior revolutionized its look for a more feminine aesthetic. Alongside Mendelsohn and Binoche, the main cast includes Maisie Williams, John Malkovich, Emily Mortimer and Claes Bang.
As for Antonoff’s soundtrack, the producer will be delivering covers of songs that were popular during the 1940s. He’s bringing on a star-studded roster of artists to cover the tracks, however, with Lana Del Rey, Perfume Genius, Florence Welch, Matty Healy, Nick Cave and more contributing. Antonoff’s own band, Bleachers, will also appear on the soundtrack.
The New Look will premiere on Apple TV on February 14.
