Isaac Dunbar has delivered his first new single since the release of his EP Beep Beep Repeat in April. On “Take It Slow,” Dunbar’s dance-pop sound – true to the song’s title – steps away from its usual fast-paced tempo in favor of a slower beat.
Instrumentals punctuate Dunbar’s crooning as he sings, “I need a sec to catch my breath and catch the view / Keep with my flow.”
Whereas Beep Beep Repeat paid homage to New York City’s club scene with energetic, euphoric tracks, “Take It Slow” shows off a different side of Dunbar – although the singer himself still hopes to hear the song playing at clubs.
“”Take It Slow” is the first extension of Beep Beep Repeat. It’s about that man who lovebombed you and was way too clingy way too fast,” he said. “I want every DJ in the world to play this in gay clubs one day.”
With that, it seems that Beep Beep Repeat may be getting a deluxe edition in the near future. Stream Isaac Dunbar’s “Take It Slow” everywhere now.
