There has been continued speculation about whether or not the iPhone 12 launch might be delayed further by around a few months due to the worldwide pandemic and its supply chain disruptions earlier in the year.
A report from Wedbush now says that Apple’s supply chain has made impressive strides in ramping up production capabilities, putting the iPhone 12 back on track for a September launch.
According to 9to5Mac, the report suggests that while there has been some disruption, suppliers have managed to make up for lost time, working hard to get back on schedule for the usual September timeframe
“Our recent Asia checks and supply chain contacts are now looking at iPhone units in the 160 million to 180 million range for CY20 with strong underlying momentum into CY21 on the heels of iPhone 12 which remains the linchpin to our “5G supercycle thesis” on Apple,” reads the report.

It read that Apple has the potential to become the first company to achieve a $2 trillion valuation, “driven by 5G tailwinds.”
Further, the analysts at Wedbush believe that China will see particularly strong iPhone growth, suggesting that China will count for 20% in iPhone upgrades in the region over the coming year.
5G-Enabled Features Speculated
It is rumoured that the flagship model of the iPhone 12 will be the first iPhone to feature 5G connectivity. The smartphone is also expected to feature an LCP antenna design, which first made its way to the iPhone X in 2017, but hasn’t fully rolled out to every iPhone model.
Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) is a perfect material for the manufacture of antennas because it ensures consistent performance across different temperatures, which makes it a good choice for 5G enabled tech.
