Interscope Geffen A&M has promoted A&R veteran Tim Glover to the role of executive vp of A&R, the company announced today (April 20). Glover, who has been with the company since 2014, previously held the title of senior vp of A&R.
During his time at Interscope, Glover has been the point person for the label’s partnerships with Dreamville — which includes artists like J. Cole, JID and Ari Lennox, among others — and LVRN, including Summer Walker and 6LACK, as well as working with Tierra Whack and more than a dozen other artists at the label.
“Tim’s dedication to the artists and partners he works with, his consistency and discipline are perfectly matched with his intuitive knowledge of the current market and his proven ability to recognize talent,” Interscope’s executive vp/co-head of A&R Nicole Wyskoarko said in a statement announcing the promotion. “We are pleased to offer him this expanded role at the label.”
There’s not much detail as to what that expanded role will entail, but Glover will continue with his current A&R duties, working with both established and up-and-coming artists at the label headed by chairman/CEO John Janick. Prior to joining Interscope, Glover worked at parent company Universal Music Group and at UMG Distribution, before moving to Def Jam to work on marketing campaigns for artists like Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Pusha T. He was promoted to senior vp in March 2019, and in 2021 was named to Billboard’s 40 Under 40 list of trailblazing young executives in the music business.
“Nicole and John Janick’s ongoing support has empowered me to continue to do my best work on behalf of all of the artists and label partners on my roster,” Glover said in a statement. “I’m grateful for this expanded opportunity and look forward to continuing my work with these world-class artists and executives.”
