Up until now, Instagram has only allowed users to add a single link to their profile, requiring users to resort to Linktree to display multiple links to other social media channels, websites, portfolios and online shops.
After years of requests from its users, Instagram is finally letting users add more than one link. The news was announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on his Instagram broadcast channel, another new feature the app rolled out a few months ago.
“You can now add up to five links in your Instagram bio,” he said. “Probably one of the most requested features we’ve had.”
Users can add the links via the section dedicated to editing their profile, where they can also choose what to title each link and how to order them. Not all five links will be immediately shown on one’s profile though.
Rather, those with more than one link will have a “[the name of their first link] and 1 other” message, which a follower can tap on to expand and see the rest of the available links.
The feature is still handy for those who don’t want to use a Linktree and have multiple sites they want to direct their followers to.
