Instagram is now allowing users to add moderators to their live streams. Moderators will have the ability to report comments, remove viewers from Lives and turn off comments for a specific viewer, according to the social media company.
Users will be able to assign moderators to their Lives by tapping the three-dot icon in the comment section while live streaming. There, streamers will be able to select a moderator by searching for a specific account or choosing a list of suggested accounts.
Streamers + Mods = Dynamic Duo ❤️
We’re launching Live Moderator on Instagram Live, where creators can assign a mod and give them the power to:

Rumors of the feature first surfaced in November when known leaker Alessadro Paluzzi shared screenshots of a moderator function to Twitter. Instagram says the feature is intended to provide safety during live streams for both the streamer and their viewers.
The tool arrives five years after Instagram first launched its Live feature, following similar developments on various other social media platforms like TikTok and Twitter last year.
Elsewhere, Instagram recently launched Creator Lab, a new educational portal for emerging creators.
