Meghan Markle recently revealed her upcoming lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, which will reportedly “reflect everything that she loves—family, cooking, entertaining and home décor,” according to a source speaking with People. As she prepares for the big launch, the Duchess of Sussex is leaning on her community in California, which she and Prince Harry have built up in the past four years of living in Montecito.
“They surround themselves with loyal friends and are very cautious about who they invite into their lives. Meghan is very focused on building a great network,” the source said. “She is the type of person who will not only remember your birthday, she’ll also send a very personal and thoughtful gift.”
Since coming to their new home, the pressure of living in the public eye as part of the royal family has dissipated.
“She could[n’t] care less [about U.K. press criticism]. She knows who her friends are and this is all she cares about,” the insider claimed. “She is excited about her latest, personal venture…This is something she’s been wanting to do for a while. She is excited to share her style and things that she loves.”
The couple’s home, where they live with their children Archie and Lilibet, is close to Santa Barbara, sometimes called the “American Riviera.” The name of her brand is a tribute to the place she calls home now.
“Meghan finds the name American Riviera Orchard perfect. It feels authentic to her. She can’t wait for the website to launch,” the source added.
Since coming to the United States, the Sussexes have embarked on a number of personal projects, including deals with Netflix and Spotify. They were dropped from the latter, but recently signed a new podcast deal with Lemonada Media.
