Kyle Kirkwood will restart as the race leader ahead of polesitter Scott McLaughlin when the red flag is lifted with five laps left. Hendersonville native Josef Newgarden is in fourth, just behind series points leader Alex Palou.

He started the day 80 points ahead of Newgarden.

Three cars piled up with six laps left forcing a red flag to come out with five laps remaining. Felix Rosenqvist, Benjamin Pedersen and Agustin Canapino piled up on top of each other.

Linus Lundqvist brought out the second caution of the Music City Grand Prix with 10 laps to go when he went wide on a turn and hit the wall.

The race resumed with seven laps remaining.

Kyle Kirkwood leads the third annual Music City Grand Prix with 18 laps to go. But the big storyline is the fact there has been just one caution in the race. That lone caution came on Lap 12 when David Malukas’ wing came off his car.

Hendersonville’s Josef Newgarden is up to fourth place on Lap 54 as he’s steadily moved up the racing order since pitting on Lap 30. Kyle Kirkwood leads the race with polesitter Scott McLaughlin in second.

Hendersonville native Josef Newgarden made his way to third in the Music City Grand Prix before finally coming into the pits for his first stop at Lap 30. He exited the pits in 12th, but climbed up to 11th a lap later.

Polesitter Scott McLaughlin took his first pit stop on Lap 25. That helped Hendersonville native Josef Newgarden get up to fifth after starting ninth.

David Malukas lost his wing on Lap 12, bringing out the first caution.

Scott McLaughlin, the pole sitter, remains the leader.

Scott McLaughlin took the race lead from the pole of the Music City Grand Prix. Several notables, though, have pitted early. Graham Rahal pitted on Lap 5 after complaining that he had a tire locking up.

Former Music City Grand Prix race winner Marcus Ericsson pitted about a lap later.

The race is 80 laps.

WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Rick Flair is in Nashville for the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix. Flair is among the many notable celebrities seen in Nashville this weekend.

Points leader Christian Rasmussen led all 35 laps to win the Indy NXT 2023 race at Nashville. Rasmussen started from the pole after qualifying was canceled due to weather on Saturday. Rasmussen won by 1.1594 seconds.

Hunter McElrea finished second after starting fourth and Jacob Abel was third.
