Ice Spice will be honored with her very own MTA MetroCard. The Bronx-born-and-raised artist frequently references her home city in her raps and music videos, from her 2021 “No Clarity” remix, where she shouts out the borough, to her bodega-set “Deli” visual.
The one-of-a-kind MetroCards show Spice wearing a Versace baby tee and leather shorts. Created in collaboration with Capitol Records, only 50,000 of the cards will be available for purchase now.
Available while supplies last, the commemorative MetroCards will be offered at just three stops: Fordham Rd for the 4 and B/D trains, 34th-Penn Station for the A/C/E lines and the Times Square station.
In August, the MTA celebrated hip-hop’s 50th anniversary with a series of cards paying homage to New York native rappers, including LL Cool J, Rakim, Cam’ron and Pop Smoke. These latest cards arrived just after Spice announced her long-awaited debut album, Y2K.
