- The sexual wellness doctor says our sex life is linked with our overall wellbeing
- It quizzes participants on the quality of their relationship and lifestyle choices
Ever wondered how good your sex life is?
Well, a sexual health expert has now created a way to categorically determine the answer.
Florida-based Dr Kanwal Bawa, also known as ‘Dr Sex Fairy’ to her 850,000 TikTok followers, has devised a 27-question quiz that delves into your sexual wellbeing.
Responses are used to generate a score out of 100, based on diet, exercise and sleeping habits, as well as mental health, relationship status and quality.
Dr Bawa said: ‘These elements play a crucial role in affecting one’s sexual function and satisfaction.’
Her quiz, which can be accessed by clicking here, first asks if a person has a penis or a vagina, before asking for their age, marital status and sex of their partner.
It also takes into account level of education and whether you smoke, drink alcohol or take drugs.
Other questions on health and wellbeing include dietary questions on how well you think you eat, as well as rating your self-esteem from poor to excellent.
Dr Bawa said this is because a diet impacts sexual health as well as general health.
‘Foods that promote blood flow, such as those high in omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants can be particularly beneficial’, said Dr Bawa. This includes foods such as salmon and antioxidant foods like berries.
The quiz also includes a section on mental health because anxiety, stress and depression can significantly impact sexual desire and performance in the bedroom, according to Dr Bawa.
The quiz then goes on to ask how ‘loving’ a person’s relationship is, with options including ‘unhappy or no loving relationship’ and ‘happy and loving’.
‘The presence of a loving and understanding partner can greatly enhance sexual satisfaction,’ said Dr Bawa.
How much sleep you get on average is another important question in the quiz. Dr Bawa stresses that not getting adequate sleep can lead to a reduced libido.
The quiz also focuses on activity levels, asking whether you live a sedentary lifestyle or an active one.
That’s because regular exercise improves cardiovascular health, which is crucial for sexual function. It also helps with body image and gives a self-esteem boost.
It also takes into account whether you have any chronic conditions, as this can impact your sex life.
Intimate questions about sexual performance, pain during sex, how often you orgasm, and how often you have sex, also helps to shape an image of your sexual wellness.
If you get 80 per cent, that would be a ‘good’ score, with room for improvement, according to Dr Bawa.
To give a boost to your overall score, Dr Bawa suggests ‘reducing or eliminating’ smoking and excessive alcohol consumption as well as keeping active.
She also urges people to get regular check-ups to identify any underlying health conditions that might be impacting your sexual health.
Dr Bawa said: ‘Recognising the intricate link between overall well-being and sexual wellness, this quiz serves as a tool to highlight how factors like diet, exercise, sleep, and mental health contribute to sexual function and satisfaction.’
‘Ultimately, the goal is to guide individuals towards a more informed, healthier, and fulfilling sexual life, enhancing both their physical and emotional well-being’, she added.
