House of Reps member petitions army over ‘unlawful dismissal’ of soldiers from Ebonyi
The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) has pledged to collaborate with the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) to find practical solutions to insecurity confronting the country.

The member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinedu Ogah, has petitioned the Nigerian Army over the ‘unjust’ dismissal of soldiers from Ebonyi state .

Ogah said that the soldiers were sacked unjustly from the military and that a petition has been submitted against their dismissal , expressing confidence that they would be reinstated very soon.

The federal Lawmaker disclosed this while addressing thousands of members of his constituency who paid him Christmas visit at his Amagu country home, Ikwo in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi state

Ogah however, used the occasion to intimate them on his activities for the one year he has been in office as their representative in the National Assembly, saying that he had submitted petition against the dismissal of policemen from Ebonyi state for no cogent reason by the Nigeria Police Force and that the dismissed Policemen have all been reinstated.

“Within one year and one month, we have built houses for both the downtrodden and deserving party leaders, over 235 Federal jobs have been attracted to our young graduates. These 235 persons are not part of the 610 persons we gave jobs at also at the federal level before we went to the National Assembly, we have given out countless numbers of motorcycles and tricycles to our youths and women, we have commenced and completed many bridges and currently we are working on an over N300 million naira bridge at Ezza South, we bought 350 pieces of motorcycles and shared to our constituents, we bought 70 pieces of tricycles and shared to our constituents.

“We have given financial grants to 300 tertiary students; six of them who are in abroad were given N600,000 each while those in Nigeria here were paid their tuition fees and all of them have collected their monies, we have also empowered countless numbers of our youths and women with cash to start up a business and support the existing ones, over 800 students WAEC fees were paid, we awarded scholarship to many students for under graduates and post graduates studies across our constituency. All these and many more was achieved within a space of one year and one month”, he said.
