‘Tis the season for assemblies. With the holidays coming up, many will soon have their hands full with a bunch of new decorations and gifts to build. To take some pressure off, you can give Hoto’s electric screwdriver a try. It’s a perennial favorite in our various gift guides, and now you can get a whole kit with its magnetic carrying case and a 25-piece set of commonly used steel bits for $39.99 (50 percent off) at Amazon and Best Buy. That’s the lowest price we’ve seen on the package so far.

The screwdriver is lightweight (8.8 ounces) and small enough to maneuver tight workspaces, such as the innards of a desktop PC chassis. You can use it in either manual mode or an electric mode with three distinct torque settings, allowing you to dial in the appropriate finesse and power for a wide range of jobs. There’s also an integrated LED light to help you line your screws up. Hoto says the battery lasts up to 800-plus screws, and you don’t need a proprietary charger to keep it going thanks to a USB-C charging port.

  • Nintendo’s Screaming Deals sale is on through October 31st, taking up to 50 percent off digital Switch games that’ll complement this month’s eerie vibes. Animal Well is down to $19.99 ($5 off), for example. It’s a tense descent into a shrouded ecosystem inhabited by creatures both friendly and fearsome. The game features a fully interactive environment with a charming pixelated art style, classic side-scrolling platforming, plenty of items to find, and hard choices to make. Other great deals include 30 percent off Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance’s digital deluxe edition (down to $48.99), the fraught roguelike card battler Inscryption for $7.99 ($12 off), and Sonic Frontiersas low as $20.99 ($39 off).
  • You can get the GoPro Hero 13 Black for $349.99 ($50 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target. It’s the first discount we’ve seen on the newly launched camera, bringing it inline with the recently released DJI Osmo Action 5’s price. The Hero 13 Black isn’t a massive upgrade over its predecessor. It uses the same sensor and doesn’t change the proven form factor, but the action camera now features upgraded 10-bit color profiles, slo-mo shooting modes supporting up to 400 frames per second, and Wi-Fi 6. It’s also compatible with a range of new lens options, including macro, ultrawide, and anamorphic.
  • We felt the Anker Soundcore Select 4 Go’s original price was low enough to tempt an impulse purchase. That feeling is intensified now that it starts at just $19.99 ($5 off) at Amazon, depending on the color, and in black at Anker’s eBay store. That’s cheap enough to justify picking up two of the portable Bluetooth speakers for stereo pairing. Anker says it can last up to 20 hours on battery and manages to fit a 1.75-inch 5W driver and passive radiator inside a very small water- and dust-proof package.
