Horse Racing NAP of the Day: 6/4 Horse Racing Betting Tip This Tuesday + a £25 Risk Free Bet

Horse Racing NAP of the Day

This Tuesday, 23 November, the NAP of the Day for SportsLens’ horse racing tipsters is Henry De Bromhead recruit Gentleman Joe. He makes his debut over obstacles in the 2m juvenile maiden hurdle at Punchestown (13:00). This British Flat purchases appeals as Bet of the Day today at a 6/4 price.

A handy performer on the level, Gentleman Joe now represents increasingly powerful National Hunt owners Robcour. His last run on the Flat suggests that the three-year-old Authorized gelding could make up into a smart hurdler. That process begins today and Gentleman Joe is in the right hands. He rates the NAP of the Day for 23 November for precisely that reason. Read on for more details why this horse is the best value Bet of the Day on Tuesday:

Why will NAP of the Day Gentleman Joe win?

When in the care of Joseph Tuite and trained in Lambourn, Gentleman Joe progressed. After landing a Kempton All-Weather maiden over a mile, he outran odds of 50/1 when sixth and beaten less than 10 lengths in the Listed 1m 1f Feilden Stakes at Newmarket. The fourth home, Youth Spirit, went on to land the Chester Vase, so the form isn’t too shabby.

It is Gentleman Joe’s subsequent third in another Listed contest at Goodwood that makes his a potentially exciting recruit to hurdles, however. Again, he surpassed market expectation when chasing home Lone Eagle and Yibir in the 1m 3f Cocked Hat Stakes. The winner went on to be a gallant second in the Irish Derby when overhauled a neck by subsequent St Leger hero Hurricane Lane.

Yibir, meanwhile, has become a globetrotting gelding of renown after wins in the Bahrain Trophy and Great Voltigeur in the UK over the summer. That one also went across the Atlantic and landed both the Jockey Club Derby at Belmont Park and Breeders’ Cup Turf at Del Mar this autumn. Gentleman Joe was home just over six lengths behind Yibir, whose exploits at home and overseas read very well indeed.

De Bromhead continues to train winners in Waterford with Rachael Blackmore now taking the ride for the first time. An official Flat rating of 92 bodes well for Gentleman Joe if he takes to hurdles. A £25 punt on him at his current odds returns £62.50. Should Gentleman Joe not make a winning bow over obstacles, then QuinnBet refunds the stake as a free bet.
