The official list of the 2022 Golden Globes nominees has been released. This year’s 79th Annual Golden Globes Awards come at a sensitive time as NBC had decided earlier this year that they will not be airing the ceremonies. The controversy occurred after an exposé of the Globes revealed the lack of diversity in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. In response to the backlash, the HFPA announced in October that it has its “most diverse” class of new members this year.
This year’s nominations were announced by rapper Snoop Dogg. Netflix has once again dominated the list with The Power of the Dog leading with seven film nominees, Don’t Look Up with five, Tick, Tick…BOOM! with three and Squid Game with four. Belfast also has seven nominations while HBO drama series Succession earned the most TV nominations with five under its belt. Apple +‘s Ted Lasso and The Morning Show followed closely behind with four nominations each.
