September 25, 2020 – @420doggface208 shares his “morning vibe”

The clip that started it all features the skateboarder cruising down a road, taking a swig of cranberry juice straight from the bottle and lip-syncing along to the 1977 hit. The TikTok quickly spread across the platform, with users finding comfort in the social media star’s breezy nature and the morning’s warm tones.

September 26, 2020 – Dogg Face gets Fleetwood Mac’s stamp of approval

“We love this!” the rock band tweeted, re-sharing the delightful video on their feed.

September 30, 2020 – “Dreams” gets a spike in streams

Thanks to Apodaca’s video, for the three-day period of Sept. 25 – Sept. 27, “Dreams” racked up 2.9 million on-demand U.S. streams and 3000 in digital download sales — numbers up 88.7% and 374%, respectively, from their totals in the prior three-day periods, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. (The song also climbed as high as No. 24 on Spotify’s US Daily chart on Sept. 27.)

October 4, 2020 – Mick Fleetwood recreates the TikTok

The Fleetwood Mac drummer gave a good-natured nod to Dogg Face, putting his own spin on the viral clip. “@420doggface208 had it right. Dreams and Cranberry just hits different,” he captioned his take, in which he is also seen skateboarding, drinking cranberry juice and  lip-syncing with a grin to the camera.

October 5, 2020 – “Dreams” captures its largest streaming week ever

Following the rise of the video’s popularity, the classic 1977 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit garnered 8.47 million on-demand streams in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 1, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. That sum is up 125% compared to the previous week (3.76 million).

“Dreams” also sold 7,000 downloads in the U.S. in the week ending Oct. 1 (up 584%) – its best sales week since the week ending July 24, 2011, when it sold 9,000.

October 6, 2020 – Apocada gets a gift from Ocean Spray

Dogg Face got to trade his board for a new set of wheels, when Ocean Spray gifted their No. 1 customer with his own cranberry red truck that came with Cran-Raspberry juice bottles in every compartment possible.

October 8, 2020 – Mick Fleetwood talks viral video with Andy Cohen

“I’ve never met him, and yet everyone and every member of that family is in across the whole planet. It seems like you know this gentleman, you know?” he said of Apodaca.

“The whole TikTok thing just seems so apropos, whether it stays like that. I don’t know, but now it’s all about just people having an instant way of expressing,” he continued. “And it just seems right across the board very, very much tied into really just free expression and having fun with it, which God knows we all need right now… So we did it, not really knowing the end result, but supporting him, we know his story and everyone is sort of on that program.”

The Fleetwood Mac founder crashed a Zoom interview with the social media sensation to thank him. “One, we owe you,” he told the Idaho native. “It’s such a celebration of everything. I’ve heard you talking about it, and it’s so joyous and fun.”

“I just wanna say, outside of Fleetwood Mac, we owe you,” he continued. “It’s such a great story, and it’s so needed. In days that are really challenging…it makes people smile, and I’m so happy to be part of it. Congratulations on a wild, wild skateboard journey that has led us to talking today. I hope Stevie’s watching. She’s going to be overjoyed.”

October 12, 2020 – Apocada celebrates Lakers win with a new soundtrack

After the Los Angeles Lakers championship win, a clip was posted to @FollowThroughLA’s Twitter account, in which Dogg Face is seen cruising down the road at golden hour, with a Lakers jersey on. While similar to his original, the new video switches out the cranberry juice for some celebratory Chardonnay and “Dreams” is fittingly replaced by Queen‘s “We Are the Champions.”

October 13, 2020 – “Dreams” re-enters the Billboard Hot 100, and another big streaming week

The song entered at No. 21, landing on the chart for the first time since its original 1977 run. It also jumped from No. 36 to No. 18 on the Streaming Songs chart and 9-3 on Digital Song Sales.

In the tracking week ending Oct. 8, “Dreams” garnered its best-ever weekly U.S. streams and download sales totals: 13.4 million streams (up 54%) and 22,000 downloads sold (up 197%), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

October 13, 2020 – Apocada announces Halloween costume

With Halloween just around the corner, the costume comes complete with the boarder’s signature grey “Steady Vibin” sweatshirt, white tee and socks, black shorts, a temporary feather tattoo and fake mustache for $87.99 plus tax on his official site.

“Why wouldn’t you go as the most recognizable figure of 2020? And ever better?? These are quality goods you can wear year around after Halloween has past,” the site reads, though the skateboard and cranberry juice are not included in the costume.

October 13, 2020 – Stevie Nicks recreates the video

Nicks, who solely wrote “Dreams,” put her own spin on Dogg Face’s clip, trading out a skateboard for roller skates and sings along out loud to her song. She’s seen sitting on a piano bench while fixing her skates, and an Ocean Spray cranberry juice bottle is next to her record player on the floor.

“Afternoon vibe. Lace ’em up!” she captioned the clip, and added the hashtags #Dreams, #FleetwoodMac and #CranberryDreams.
