Bing Crosby has been dreaming of a “White Christmas” for ages, and it looks like fans have been dreaming of one lately too, as the song floats to No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the Jan. 2-dated week.
The Christmas jingle, which Irving Berlin wrote in only 18 minutes, remains the best-selling song of all time with 50 million copies sold globally, according to Guinness World Records. “White Christmas” also won the Oscar for best original song in the 1942 musical film Holiday Inn and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1974.
