Apple has officially announced the winners of its 2022 App Store Awards, highlighting 16 apps and games that “inspired users to engage more deeply with the world, expand their imaginations, and stay connected to friends and loved ones.” Selected by Apple’s global App Store editorial team, the winners are spread across Apple’s devices including iPhone, iPad, Mac, TV, and Watch with additional awards given for Arcade, China, and Cultural Impact.
“This year’s App Store Award winners reimagined our experiences with apps that delivered fresh, thoughtful, and genuine perspectives,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “From self-taught solo creators to international teams spanning the globe, these entrepreneurs are making a meaningful impact, and represent the ways in which apps and games influence our communities and lives.”
Amongst the winners are the social app BeReal, fitness tracker Gentler Streak, digital note-taking app GoodNotes 5, genealogy visualizer MacFamilyTree 10, and Hispanic streaming platform Vix.
Apex Legends Mobile takes home iPhone game of the year while puzzle game Moncage, card battler Inscryption, stealth game El Hijo, life simulator Wylde Flower, and League of Legends Esports Manager cover the other platforms for gaming. Rounding out the list are the Cultural Impact winners which were nominated for their lasting impact on people’s lives and positive influence on culture.
