Henry Selick and Jordan Peele Drop Netflix Teaser for New Stop-motion Animated Horror Film, ‘Wendell & Wild’

Netflix has officially released a new teaser trailer for its new animated dark, fantasy horror film Wendell & Wind. The gloomy and grim stop-motion horror film is led by the iconic visionary and director Henry Selick who was responsible for The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline and blockbuster director Jordan Peele who recently released Nope.

The story follows a teenage goth girl named Kat Ellio voiced by Lyric Ross, who learns to face her demons, literally. Each of Kat’s demons have a name, Wendell voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Wild, by Jordan Peele. In the teaser, the young girl is led by a nun to face her fears, running into the her nightmares. Under Selick’s art direction, the film is a creative revisitation of childhood terrors.

The film is based on an unpublished book titled the same name, by Selick and Clay McLeod Chapman. The stop-motion animated horror is set to premiere on September 11 at the Toronto International Film Festival before hitting Netflix on October 28, just in time for Halloween. Watch the teaser above.

In other entertainment news, Unsolved Mysteries Volume 3 is premiering in October 2022.
