‘Hawkeye’ Deleted Scene Would’ve Introduced Kingpin Much Earlier On

‘Hawkeye’ Deleted Scene Would’ve Introduced Kingpin Much Earlier On

It turns out that Kingpin aka Wilson Fisk was originally meant to be introduced much earlier on in Hawkeye.

In a new leaked video of a deleted scene which has since been taken down, a flashback in the recent Marvel and Disney+ series shows Vincent D’Onofrio‘s character taking a young Maya Lopez — or Echo — out for ice cream, revealing his return to the MCU much earlier than his ultimate appearance on-screen only during the finale of Hawkeye. While Marvel itself hasn’t commented on why the scene was deleted, it does make sense that they’d keep Kingpin a secret until later on in the series to build suspense and create an even more satisfying moment of revelation.

With Kingpin back in the MCU and his fate still left open-ended after Hawkeye‘s finale alluded to his death without actually showing it, fans have been excited to see where the Netflix character will be heading next. In a recent interview, D’Onofrio himself said that he’d be thrilled to reunite with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil/Matt Murdock, who also recently joined the MCU in a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. “I would love for that,” D’Onofrio remarked. “It hasn’t crossed my mind a lot; I’ve kind of walked away from Daredevil. For a bit, I thought it might come back, but it’s been years now. I gave up on that. But I didn’t know I was going to get a call from Kevin [Feige] either, so everything’s up for grabs. I had no idea I would do Hawkeye.”

Elsewhere in entertainment, The Batman will reportedly be three hours long.
