Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles is celebrating its five year anniversary by exhibiting a new show entitled, “In Focus: LA Artists.” The artwork on display showcases a pool of world renowned figures who contributed to the international capital of culture, we now associate to the City of Angels.
Highlights include the intergenerational mentor-mentee relationships between artists such as Paul McCarthy and Richard Jackson, who taught Jason Rhoades at UCLA. Along with one of CalArts’ greatest educators in Charles Gaines — whose 30 year career taught the likes of Henry Taylor and Mark Bradford, to name a few.
Having celebrated the five year mark back in March, Hauser & Wirth LA has achieved rousing success. The former Globe Mills flour complex has welcomed over 600,000 visitors across 275 public events, along with partnering with institutions such as CalArts and Cal State LA. In 2022, Hauser & Wirth will expand to a second LA location in a vintage automobile showroom in West Hollywood.
Enjoy “In Focus: LA Artists” as it is on display until August 22.
Elsewhere in art, researchers have found an ancient Roman road at the bottom of the Venice Lagoon.
