‘Harley Quinn’ Animated Spinoff Series in the Works at HBO Max

‘Harley Quinn’ Animated Spinoff Series in the Works at HBO Max

Noonan’s, a Harley Quinn animated spinoff series, has received a straight-to-series order at HBO Max, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The 10-episode adult comedy series, which is helmed by Dean Lorey, will center on Kite Man and Golden Glider, two criminals who purchase Gotham’s grungiest dive bar, Noonan’s. Matt Oberg will voice act in the starring role of Kite Man.

The show’s HBO Max order comes as Harley Quinn, which voice stars Kaley Cuoco, is gearing up to enter its third season this summer. Noonan’s is executive produced by Harley Quinn showrunners Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumaker, alongside Sam Register, Lorey and Cuoco.

“We love the wild and fun world of Harley Quinn so much we just had to make a spinoff and who better to center it around than the outcast Kite Man. Justin, Patrick, and Dean have created the perfect local hangout for Gotham City’s not-so-finest at Noonan’s, where bar patrons can blow off steam after a long day of mayhem,” said Suzanna Makkos, Executive Vice President, Original Comedy and Adult Animation, HBO Max and Adult Swim, in a statement.

Harley Quinn unlocked a world of hilarious possibilities with the iconic superheroes and supervillains of the DC Universef,” added Peter Girardi, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Warner Bros. Animation. “Exploring this world further with our partners at HBO Max and DC is going to be a lot of fun. Plus, after getting dumped by Poison Ivy, the least we could do was give Kite Man his own show.”

Stay tuned for more information on Noonan‘s forthcoming debut on HBO Max.

In more entertainment news, Netflix has officially canceled Michael B. Jordan’s Raising Dion.
