At the start of the year, Netflix announced that a second season of Gyeongseong Creature is on its way. With the latest promotional trailer, the streaming services confirm the series’ return for fall.
While the first season was set in Gyeongseong (the former name of Seoul) amid a tumultuous era, season two takes its premise to South Korea’s capital in 2024. Han So Hee continues to play the role of Yoon Chae-ok, a sleuth who’s conflicted with her identity following the events of last season. In present-day Seoul, Yoon encounters Ho-jae (Park Seo-joon), a young man with a deceptive resemblance to Jang Tae-sang — a person whose fate collided with her during the spring of 1945.
According to Chung Dong-yoon, the series’ director, “Season 2 presents a story with a completely different charm,” adding that “the change in space and time period will provide a clear distinction, offering an expanded universe feel.”
