Acclaimed German artist Gregor Hildebrandt partnered with THE SKATEROOM on a custom set of 10 unique music-inspired decks.
Made in collaboration with Almine Rech and Kunsthalle Praha, the project imbues Hildebrandt’s longstanding belief that “there is a fundamental connection between art and skateboarding.”
“The art of skateboarding is about how it looks when you do a trick particularly well or when you just roll with the skateboard. I’m very happy that I’m able to make skateboards for THE SKATEROOM, because when I was skateboarding myself, I always thought about how a skateboard should look aesthetically,” the artist said in a statement.

Hildebrandt is well-known for his minimal paintings, sculptures and installations that are made using cassette tape and vinyl. The collection coincides with his current exhibition at Kunsthalle Praha, where each deck is named after a song that was recorded onto tape and used in the creation of the work. The decks are split into two runs: the first is an edition of 100, while the second is limited to just 25 hand-signed editions.
